Brent Rooker Back In Monday's Lineup
1 year agoOakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker (illness) has returned to Monday's lineup and is starting in left field and batting cleanup against the Boston Red Sox. Rooker sat out of Sunday's series finale against the Minnesota Twins with an illness, but he's obviously feeling better on Monday and will be back for fantasy managers to begin the week. The 28-year-old has been one of the bright spots for the last-place A's so far this year, hitting .244/.340/.477 with an .817 OPS, a career-high 16 home runs, 12 doubles, a triple, 44 RBI, two stolen bases and 33 runs scored in 309 trips to the plate and 80 games. He's been better so far in July with a .276 average (8-for-29) with three homers, five RBI, a stolen base and four runs scored in nine games. Rooker will probably continue to have limited chances at driving in runs on the A's, though.
