Brent Honeywell Cleared To Play Catch
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Brent Honeywell (elbow, forearm) has been cleared to play catch again and is doing so at 60 to 75 feet after being shut down for most of last month with nerve irritation in his right forearm. Honeywell had been rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and will be re-evaluated next Monday. Tampa's No. 2 prospect and No. 28 overall, per MLB Pipeline, is still hoping to make some noise in the team's rotation in the second half of this season. The upside is palpable, but those in redraft formats should temper their expectations for the 24-year-old for the rest of the 2019 season. The Rays certainly won't rush their top pitching prospect.
