Brendan McKay Goes On Minor League DL
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher/first baseman Brendan McKay (oblique), who is the team's No. 2 prospect, went on the disabled list with High-A Charlotte on Thursday. The regular season comes to an end this Sunday, so McKay has likely played his last game of the year. McKay was also on the DL from June 19 to July 18 with a similar injury. He went 5-2 with a 2.41 ERA in 19 outings (17 starts) at two levels this year while striking out 103 and walking 14 in 78 1/3 innings. At the plate, McKay hit just .214 with six home runs and 39 RBI in 56 games at three levels. It's safe to say he's more of a prospect on the mound than with the stick for the Rays.
