Braxton Garrett To Throw Three Innings Tuesday
8 months agoMiami Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett (shoulder) is scheduled to throw three innings or 50 pitches at extended spring training on Tuesday. If Garrett comes out of that session without any setbacks, he could be ready to embark on a minor-league rehab assignment. He's trying to recover from a left-shoulder impingement since early in spring training, which has caused him to open the 2024 season on the injured list. If the 26-year-old southpaw avoids setbacks on his minor-league rehab assignment, he could make his season debut in Miami's starting rotation before the end of April. After going 9-7 with a 3.66 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 29 walks and a career-high 156 strikeouts in 159 2/3 innings for the Fish last year, Garrett has appeal for rotation depth in deep-mixed fantasy leagues when he's healthy.
