Braves Acquire Taylor Hearn From Rangers
1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves acquired left-hander Taylor Hearn from the Texas Rangers on Monday. It's unclear what the Rangers will receive in return. The Braves also acquired veteran reliever Pierce Johnson from the Colorado Rockies on Monday, and both Hearn and Johnson have minor-league options remaining. Atlanta has been limited by the lack of optionable relievers in their bullpen this year. Hearn will not be fantasy relevant and allowed eight earned runs on nine hits while walking four and striking out seven in seven relief innings for Texas in 2023. The 28-year-old southpaw will most likely report to Triple-A Gwinnett after the trade. He had a 3.66 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 24 walks and 54 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings over 24 outings (two starts) at Triple-A Round Rock.
