Brandon Morrow Will Be Eased Back In
6 years agoChicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon said closer Brandon Morrow (biceps) will not be put back into the ninth-inning role immediately upon his return. Morrow threw a simulated game on Saturday and said he is ready to return in a few days. Pedro Strop (hamstring) is now out for the rest of the regular season, and Jorge De La Rosa recorded a save on Friday. Expect Chicago to mix and match in the ninth inning until they deem Morrow ready to retake the role. If you're desperate for saves, you might want to consider adding Morrow if he's available, but he might not see a ton of save chances to close out the year.
