Brandon Morrow Throws Wednesday
6 years agoChicago Cubs relief pitcher Brandon Morrow (elbow) threw up to 90 feet during workouts on Wednesday. A right elbow injury that kept Morrow out in the second half last year will also keep him out for the first month of the regular season this year. He's hoping to be cleared to play catch daily next week. Pedro Strop, who filled in nicely for Morrow last year, will handle the closing duties until Morrow is ready to return. Morrow had a 1.47 ERA in his 35 outings last year and will likely slide back into the ninth-inning role when he's healthy, but you can snag him in the late rounds in mixed leagues.
