Brandon Lowe Suffers Setback On Rehab Assignment
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Brandon Lowe (quadriceps) left the game at Triple-A Durham on Wednesday with a left quadriceps strain. It's unrelated to the bruised right leg he was recovering from initially. He's heading back to Tampa for tests, which means he'll miss even more time, although how much longer is unknown as of now. The 25-year-old was having a fine season before his injury, batting .276/.339/.523 with 16 home runs, 40 runs, 49 RBI and five steals. The Rays could certainly use his bat as they attempt to secure a playoff spot down the stretch. Lowe would be a nice asset down the stretch in fantasy leagues, too, but it remains to be seen if that will happen.
