Brandon Crawford Expected To Avoid Concussion DL
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford (head) was feeling better on Tuesday and is expected to avoid the seven-day concussion disabled list after a nasty collision with outfielder Gorkys Hernandez on Monday. Both players were out of the lineup on Tuesday. “He’s feeling pretty good,” manager Bruce Bochy said of Crawford. “I think he’s feeling a lot better today. We’re still not going to play him. I’ll wait until game time to hear from [head trainer] Dave Groeschner to see if we can pinch hit him or not. I think the plan right now is to try and stay away from him … Gorkys is fine. He’s good to go, help us in any way we need him.” Crawford was hitting .187 in August going into Monday's game, but he's been nice for fantasy owners on the year, batting .275 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI. He could return to the lineup in a few days.
