Brandon Belt Will Be Ready For Spring Training
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) will be ready for spring training and will see time in the outfield in camp, according to manager Bruce Bochy. Knee surgery limited Belt to 112 games in 2018, and he hit a disappointing .253/.342/.414 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI in 399 at-bats. At a position known for power, the soon-to-be 31-year-old's fantasy stock is down, and he's never even reached the 20-homer mark in his eight seasons. Belt is a fringe fantasy first baseman in deep mixed leagues without much power upside who resides in a pitcher's park. Gaining outfield eligibility would make him only slightly more attractive.
