6 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) is heading back to San Francisco for another MRI exam on his knee, and he could have surgery soon. Manager Bruce Bochy acknowledged that Belt's season is likely over. Belt has been out of the lineup more often than not down the stretch, so this shouldn't come as a surprise to fantasy owners. A surgery isn't expected to keep him from being ready for next season, but we won't know that until after he has a procedure. The left-handed hitter batted .253/.342/.414 this year with just 14 home runs, 46 RBI and four steals over 112 games. Expect some combination of Austin Slater and Aramis Garcia to fill in for Belt at first to close out the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
