Bradley Zimmer Hopes To Be Ready By Spring Training
6 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Bradley Zimmer (shoulder), who had surgery to fix a torn labrum in his right shoulder in July, is hoping to return for spring training. His initial recovery time was estimated at eight to 12 months. “Based on how I’m feeling now, I feel like I’ll be ready for spring training,” Zimmer said. “Whether they turn me loose by then or not, I feel like I’m in a really good place right now, physically.” He is currently hitting off a tee and throwing up to 75 feet without issues. Zimmer is expected to have restrictions at the start of camp, and his game activity will depend on his response to activity next month. The 26-year-old hit just .226/.281/.330 with two homers and nine RBI in 34 games for the Tribe, but he could have a prominent role in Cleveland's outfield whenever he's ready to play. Because he's likely to miss the start of the season, he should only be a target in AL-only leagues to start the season.
