Blake Snell Named Rays Opening Day Starter
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell, the reigning American League Cy Young winner, was named as the team's Opening Day starter on Wednesday by manager Kevin Cash. The 26-year-old southpaw will make his first career Opening Day start March 28 against the Astros after going 21-5 with a 1.89 ERA and 221 strikeouts in 31 starts last year. While it'll be a tough assignment out of the gates, Snell is obviously on the rise and has become a fantasy ace as a top-10 starting pitcher. He'll be a must-start all season.
