Blake Snell Looks Dominant In Latest Rehab Start
4 months agoSan Francisco Giants left-hander Blake Snell (groin) was dominant in his latest minor-league rehab start on Wednesday for Triple-A Sacramento, tossing five shutout innings while giving up zero hits, walking one and striking out nine. This was Snell's third rehab start since going on the 15-day injured list on June 3 with another groin injury. The 31-year-old southpaw threw 46 of his 67 pitches for strikes on Wednesday and is expected to be able to return to the Giants' starting rotation next week before the All-Star break. Things couldn't have gone any worse for Snell coming off his National League Cy Young award in 2023, as he's gone 0-3 with a 9.51 ERA and 1.94 WHIP with 31 K's in 23 2/3 innings over only six starts in 2024 in his first year with the Gigantes. If Snell does come off the IL next week, he'll likely be facing the Toronto Blue Jays.
