6 years agoNew York Jets running back Bilal Powell (neck), who was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, will have season-ending surgery on his neck. The injury could also be career-threatening, according to head coach Todd Bowles. The 29-year-old Powell will be a free agent after this season, so he may struggle to find work. He'll finish the year with 80 carries for 343 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and 11 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. In his absence, rookie Trenton Cannon will handle the passing work alongside Isaiah Crowell as the lead back. Elijah McGuire (foot) should have a sizeable role behind Crowell whenever he returns from the Physically Unable to Perform list, which could be soon.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
