Benny Snell Jr. Needs To Improve Pass Protection
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Benny Snell Jr. took advantage of injuries to James Conner and Jaylen Samuels in his rookie season in 2019 and finished with 426 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 108 carries. Snell had at least 90 rushing yards in both of his starts against the Bengals and Ravens, but he was used mostly as a closer late in games to chew up the clock. The fourth-round pick is a bruising downhill runner, but he'll need to improve his pass protection in order to see the field more often. Snell is a solid hold in keeper/dynasty leagues and could be useful again behind an injury-prone Conner in Pittsburgh's backfield, but he won't carry much redraft value unless injuries strike again.
