Bengals Content With Andy Dalton
6 years agoDespite the Cincinnati Bengals firing of head coach Marvin Lewis after the season, league sources indicate more than one candidate during the team's coaching search expressed approval in quarterback Andy Dalton. Dalton has proven himself capable in the eyes of the personnel department and also has two years remaining with no dead salary cap charge on his contract. "We're very comfortable with Andy," director of player personnel Duke Tobin said. "We think he's got a number of years left. We feel like we can win with him. But with any position group, we don't just throw away the whole draft board at a group just because we're satisfied with who we have. We'll evaluate them and look at them and see if there's an opportunity to add a guy at every position." Dalton only played in 11 games in 2018 due to injury, but he could easily bounce back in 2019 with better health. He has the weapons around him to succeed, but he's best drafted as a fantasy backup with QB1 upside in the right matchups.
