Ben Roethlisberger's Season Is Over
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) is out for the season with a right elbow injury that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Seahawks. It's not exactly known what's wrong with Big Ben's elbow, but it looks like he'll be undergoing season-ending surgery to fix it. He went 8-for-15 for 75 yards before giving way to Mason Rudolph on Sunday. The loss of Roethlisberger means that Rudolph will be under center all year. It's very bad news for the fantasy value of receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster mostly, as he was drafted as an elite WR1. All Pittsburgh skill players need to be downgraded, although tight end Vance McDonald, who caught two touchdowns from Rudolph, might be a favorite weapon of the backup QB. Rudolph will be in play as a low-end QB in two-quarterback leagues moving forward.
