Bears Seeing Improvement From Mitch Trubisky
5 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said that quarterback Mitch Trubisky is showing signs of progress in his daily practice battles with pass-rusher Khalil Mack and one of the league's best defenses. "His growth seeing the other side of the ball, the defense, the blitzes, the fronts, the coverages -- he's way past where he was last year," Nagy said. Nagy said he's comfortable with Trubisky not throwing a single pass in preseason play this year. Trubisky is one of the better scrambling quarterbacks in the league and has become successful at making plays outside the pocket, but there remains plenty of skepticism as to whether he can consistently make plays within the pocket. He's a solid backup fantasy QB because of his ability to use his legs, but he shouldn't be considered a QB1 yet.
