Auston Matthews Extends Point Streak With 41st Goal
4 years agoToronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews scored his 41st goal of the season in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss against Ottawa, stretching his point streak to seven games in the process. Jake Muzzin had a power-play goal and John Tavares scored as well. Matthews led the team with six shots, and he delivered one hit. The league's best goal-scorer hasn't found the net just five times since the start of last month. He'll head into the regular-season finale against Winnipeg on 66 points. The first pick of the 2016 draft has also registered 220 shots in 51 games with 57 hits, 46 blocks and a plus-22 rating.
