Astros Trade For Aaron Sanchez, Joe Biagini
5 years agoThe Houston Astros acquired starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez and reliever Joe Biagini from the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday in exchange for outfielder Derek Fisher, according to a source. This one flies under the radar after Houston also pulled off a blockbuster to acquire starter Zack Greinke at the deadline. Sanchez is 3-14 with an ugly 6.07 ERA in 23 starts this year, while Biagini is 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 49 relief appearances. Sanchez might have more AL-only appeal on a better team, but he could also be relegated to long relief. Neither he nor Biagini hold much fantasy value. Fisher disappointed in small sample sizes in Houston the last three years and was being blocked by a strong major league roster. The 25-year-old was hitting .286 with 14 homers and 36 RBI at Triple-A Round Rock, so he could benefit from a change of scenery and see some playing time in Toronto before the year is up.
