Astros Decline Will Harris' Option
6 years agoThe Houston Astros declined the $5.5 million option on relief pitcher Will Harris for the 2019 season on Thursday, according to a source. However, because he isn't at six years of service time, he will remain under team control and the Astros can offer him a new deal by the Nov. 30 tender deadline. Harris had been outstanding his previous three seasons with the team, but 2018 was his worst, posting a 3.49 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 10.2 K/9 over 61 outings (56 2/3 innings). He could easily bounce back and be a big part of their bullpen if they keep him around, but he doesn't carry much fantasy value.
