Astros Bringing Alex Bregman Along Slowly
6 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (elbow), who had surgery on Jan. 11 to remove bone chips from his right elbow, said the team is bringing him along slowly. He could throw and hit now if he wanted to, but the Astros are holding him back "because they're smart." Bregman broke out in his third season, hitting .286/.394/.532 with 31 home runs, 103 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 157 games for the 'Stros. His elbow issue shouldn't affect him going into the regular season, so he'll be a consideration late in the first round or early in the second round of fantasy drafts. He'll turn just 25 on March 30.
