A's Sign Homer Bailey To Minor League Deal
3 years agoThe Oakland Athletics signed veteran right-hander Homer Bailey to a minor league deal. Bailey, a first-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds back in 2004, made 13 starts for the A's back in 2019, going 6-3 with a 4.30 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. The 35-year-old had a 3.38 ERA in eight innings over two starts for the Minnesota Twins in the shortened 2020 season and was released last September. In 31 total starts with the A's and Kansas City Royals in 2019, Bailey was 13-9 with a 4.57 ERA. He'll represent organizational pitching depth in Oakland for the time being and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar. Even if he does make his way back to the big leagues, he'll be low-upside streamer with a 19.2 percent career strikeout rate.
