A's Avoid Arbitration With Four Players
6 years agoThe Oakland Athletics avoided salary arbitration on Friday with outfielder Mark Canha, starting pitcher Sean Manaea, infielder Jurickson Profar and shortstop Marcus Semien by signing them to undisclosed deals. Profar is the biggest name from a fantasy perspective. He was acquired from the Rangers in the offseason and figures to be the team's regular second baseman in 2019. Profar finally broke out with everyday playing time last year and hit 20 homers with 10 steals. He's in consideration as a top-20 fantasy second baseman and is also attractive with multi-position eligibility. Manaea will miss at least the first half of the season after having shoulder surgery. Semien also has modest power and speed skills, hitting 15 homers and stealing 14 bags in 159 games.
