A's Acquire Abraham Toro From Brewers
1 year agoThe Oakland Athletics acquired third baseman Abraham Toro from the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday in exchange for pitcher Chad Patrick. Toro, a 26-year-old Canadian switch-hitter, made just nine appearances in Milwaukee last season, going 8-for-18 (.444) with two home runs and nine RBI for the Brew Crew. He also hit a strong .291/.374/.471 in 414 plate appearances for Triple-A Nashville. Toro is a career .211/.282/.354 hitter in 271 major-league games with 28 home runs and 108 RBI for the Brewers, Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners. With the rebuilding A's, he'll have a legitimate shot to win playing time at the hot corner in spring training next year.
