Antti Raanta Shuts Out Montreal
3 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta collected his first shutout of the season on Thursday, beating Montreal 4-0 with 26 saves. The Finnish netminder improved to 5-2-1 for the year, and he now boasts a 2.08 goals-against average with a .919 save percentage. Raanta has been a rock-solid backup for Carolina, giving up over two goals just three times. Frederik Andersen will continue to get the lion's share of starts, but fantasy managers should feel very comfortable plugging in Raanta whenever he gets the nod. His next opportunity should come soon, as the Hurricanes will be in a back-to-back situation at the end of next week.
