6 years agoTom Condon, the agent for free-agent tight end Antonio Gates, said that he's hopeful his client will re-sign with the Los Angeles Chargers. Condon is actively negotiating with the team. Gates returning to the Bolts seemed inevitable ever since Hunter Henry blew out his knee in May. The future Hall of Famer is hardly the tight end he used to be -- he had only 30 catches and 316 yards last year -- but he has chemistry with quarterback Philip Rivers and is a red-zone target. If Gates returns to LA, consider him worth a late-round flier as a touchdown-dependent TE2.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
