Antonio Callaway Expected To Play Thursday
6 years agoCleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Antonio Callaway is expected to play in the team's preseason opener on Thursday against the Giants despite being cited for marijuana possession and a suspended driver's license on Sunday, according to a person familiar with the situation. Callaway was promoted to the starting unit when the team traded Corey Coleman to the Bills on Sunday, but Callaway didn't report his legal issues to the team. The Browns took Callaway in the fourth round after he dropped due to off-field concerns, and his NFL career hasn't gotten off to a good start. Callaway is already in Stage 1 of the league's substance-abuse policy after testing for a dilute sample at the NFL combine, so he could be facing some discipline from the league. He has a chance to carve out a role on offense in his first year, but he's a much better dynasty league investment.
