6 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels are among five teams that are interested in signing free-agent catcher Wilson Ramos, according to a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly. Ramos is a nine-year veteran who was an All-Star for the second time in his career in 2018, as he hit .306 with 15 home runs, 70 RBI and an .845 OPS in his time with the Rays and Phillies in 111 games. Angels catchers hit a combined .220 last year, so Ramos would be a big upgrade. Ramos is one of the better hitting catchers around, but he is 31 years old and has a history with injuries. Kevan Smith and Jose Briceno are the current catchers on the Angels roster.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
