Angels Expected To Approach Mike Trout With Extension
6 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels are expected to try again to make outfielder Mike Trout a lifetime Angel when they discuss a contract with him this winter, and a rival agent suggested that Trout's agent would be wise to wait until impending free agents Bryce Harper and Manny Machado are signed to provide a floor. The Angels previously compromised and signed Trout to a six-year, $144 million deal through 2020. He's currently the highest paid position player at $33.25 million this season. One concern for the Angels could be the fact that they have made the playoffs just once in his seven years with them. Even if Trout goes elsewhere, he remains the best player in the game.
