Andy Dalton Has Sprained Thumb
6 years agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton (thumb) was diagnosed with a sprained right thumb after X-rays came up negative, according to a team source. Dalton left the game in the second half of the Week 12 blowout loss to the Browns after falling on a bad snap. Head coach Marvin Lewis said the tests didn't show a long-term injury, but Dalton will undergo more tests on Monday. It remains to be seen if Dalton will be able to play in Week 13 against the Broncos. Jeff Driskel replaced Dalton and went 17-for-29 for 155 yards and a touchdown to close out the game. Even if Dalton is cleared to play against Denver, he'll be a low-ceiling QB2. If Driskel is forced to start, you'll need to downgrade Cincy's offensive weapons.
