Andrew Miller Is Healthy
6 years agoFree-agent relief pitcher Andrew Miller's agent, Mark Rodgers, said that his client is fully healthy heading into the offseason after landing on the disabled list three different times in 2018 with knee, hamstring and shoulder injuries. “Altcheck saw absolutely nothing that would keep him from being the old Andrew Miller,” Rodgers said Monday at the general managers’ meetings. When healthy, the left-hander can be one of the most dominant relievers in the game, as he had a 2.01 ERA and averaged 14.1 strikeouts per nine innings from 2012 to 2017. Miller posted a 4.24 ERA and walked 4.2 hitters per nine innings with an 11.9 K/9 this year. If he is indeed healthy, Miller will have plenty of suitors on the free-agent market and will once again be a popular fantasy option for his ratios even if he's not closing out games. The Mets and Yankees are both in need of bullpen help and could call his name.
