Andrew Cashner Not In A Hurry To Leave Baltimore
5 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher Andrew Cashner will be a popular trade candidate this summer, but he said he would consider walking away if the team agreed to trade him to a team that he didn't want to go to. The veteran right-hander has improved of late, lasting six innings or more and producing a quality start in four of his last five outings while increasing his strikeout rate and lowering his walk rate. He went 4-15 with a 5.29 ERA in 28 starts for the O's last year, but Cashner is 4-2 with a 4.12 ERA in his first 10 games in 2019. The 32-year-old has looked better since his Opening Day blunder, but he's still a shaky streaming option in deeper leagues on a bad Orioles team. A trade to a contender would make him much more attractive in fantasy.
