4 years agoCleveland Indians shortstop Andres Gimenez is leading off for the first time this year on Sunday as the team closes out a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers. Gimenez has batted ninth in the lineup in five of his six previous starts this year and sixth in the lineup in the other start. Jordan Luplow, who has been the team's primary leadoff hitter, is out of the lineup for the game. Gimenez hit his first home run of the year on Saturday, but he's off to a slow start to the year overall, slashing .176/.222/.353. The Indians are still working out the kinks in their batting order.
