Alexandar Georgiev Guards The Cage Friday Night
3 years agoNew York Rangers goaltender Alexandar Georgiev will make his third start of the season in Friday's matchup against Edmonton. The Blueshirts also play on Saturday against Calgary, so head coach Gerard Gallant is spreading the workload around among his goalies. Georgiev had an awful season debut on Oct. 13 in a 5-1 loss to Washington, but he looked much better in his second outings and beat Ottawa 3-2 with 26 saves. He needs to cool off a red-hot team to pick up a second consecutive win. The Oilers boast an 8-1-0 record and they lead the league with a 4.22 goals-for average.
