Alex Wood Throws Simulated Game
6 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Alex Wood (back) passed a test when he threw a two-inning simulated game against minor leaguers on Friday. He hasn't pitched in a Cactus League game since Feb. 25 due to a sore lower back. The left-hander said he felt good and hopes to make his next spring start. Manager David Bell remains optimistic that Wood will be ready for the regular season. Wood's fantasy stock is down significantly moving to one of the most hitter-friendly parks in baseball. He'll eat innings as a back-end starter in mixed leagues, but you'll want to pick and choose your spots based on matchups.
