6 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Alex Wood (back) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session on Saturday without any issues while throwing all fastballs. Manager David Bell said it was a "big step" for the left-hander. Wood will throw another bullpen on Tuesday and will use all of his pitches. He could start a minor league rehab assignment in the second week of May if he can avoid any setbacks. The southpaw can help fantasy owners in deep mixed leagues when he's healthy, but it'll still be a while before he makes his season debut and he's not as attractive as he was when he pitched for the Dodgers. You can leave him on the waiver wire for now in most mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
