Alex Wilson Agrees With Indians
6 years agoThe Cleveland Indians agreed to a minor league deal with free-agent relief pitcher Alex Wilson on Friday, according to a league source. He will make $1.25 million if he makes the big league roster and can earn an extra $750,000 in performance bonuses. Wilson had a 3.36 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 6.3 K/9 in 61 2/3 innings for Detroit last year and has only four saves in his six years in the big leagues. He'll merely be bullpen depth if he makes the Tribe's roster. Wilson's career 6.0 K/9 for a reliever makes him unattractive to fantasy owners, even in the unlikely event he's pitching the ninth inning for the Indians at any point.
