Alex Smith Released From Hospital
6 years agoWashington Redskins quarterback Alex Smith (leg) was finally released from the hospital on Sunday after spending multiple days in the hospital and going through several surgeries to combat infection in his broken right leg. There is optimism but no certainty that Smith will be able to play football again. If Smith can't play again, the Redskins would have to eat $20.4 million in salary cap space next year and $21.4 million in 2020. Colt McCoy also broke his leg on Dec. 3, and the team is now down to Josh Johnson under center after benching Mark Sanchez last week. As a result, Washington's offense has become a wasteland for fantasy owners to close out the season.
