Alex Kirilloff To Start On Injured List In Minors
6 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Alex Kirilloff, the No. 9 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline, will open the 2019 season at Double-A Pensacola on the injured list with a minor wrist injury that he suffered late in spring training. He's expected to return in April, so his injured stint shouldn't be long. The young prospect missed all of 2017 following Tommy John surgery but led the minors with 71 extra-base hits with Single-A Cedar Rapids and High-A Fort Myers last year, finishing with a .348/.392/.578 line and .970 OPS. He also hit .308 (8-for-26) in 10 spring games before being reassigned. The 21-year-old is the team's No. 2 prospect behind Royce Lewis. Minnesota thinks he'll be an offensive cornerstone for years to come, so keep his name handy in dynasty/keeper leagues.
