4 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk (hip) has reported to Triple-A Trenton for a rehab assignment and is eligible to come off the 60-day injured list on July 1. Kirk has been out since the beginning of May with a left hip flexor strain, but he's nearing a return as long as he doesn't suffer a setback during his rehab assignment. Kirk hit .375 with a homer and three RBI in the first nine games of his MLB career last year, and he was slashing just .225/.326/.475 with three long balls and eight RBI in 17 games this year before the injury struck. If he winds up getting the majority of playing time behind the dish over Reese McGuire when he returns, Kirk will be in play in two-catcher leagues in Toronto's potent offense.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
