6 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Aledmys Diaz has been getting some work at first base recently and will make a start at the position this weekend, according to manager A.J. Hinch. Diaz is hitless in nine at-bats to begin the season and will serve in a utility infield role for the Astros in 2019. If he makes a start at first this weekend, it'll mean that Yuli Gurriel or Tyler White will be out of the lineup. Diaz will only have mixed league value if an injury forces him into everyday playing time, and even then he won't be all that intriguing.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
