4 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have placed pitcher Alec Mills (back) on the 10-day injured list with a lower-back strain. Mills' back reportedly started to tighten up on Saturday, when he was making his first start of the year against the Detroit Tigers. His previous 11 games prior to Saturday's start were relief appearances. There has been no timetable given yet on how long Mills is expected to be out. To fill Mills' roster spot, the Cubs purchased the contract of pitcher Tommy Nance.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
