Albert Pujols Taking Batting Practice
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols (elbow) started taking batting practice last Monday, and general manager Billy Eppler said that Pujols feels good. Knee and elbow injuries limited Pujols to 117 games last season, and he hit .245/.289/.411 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI. He'll turn 39 next month and is an extreme injury risk at this point in his career. With declining skills at the plate and no speed whatsoever, Pujols' floor is scary. There's a chance he could end up platooning at first base with Justin Bour, which would lower his fantasy appeal even more. He should be ready for spring training next year, however.
