Adolis Garcia Getting A Breather Against Rays
5 months agoTexas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is retreating to the bench on Sunday for a day off against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays for the series finale. Garcia's season-long struggles have continued into July so far, as he's gone 2-for-18 (.111) with two doubles, two walks, seven strikeouts and a stolen base in five games, including going hitless in each of his last three games. The 31-year-old Cuban slugger does have 16 home runs and 44 RBI in 85 games in 2024, so the power hasn't gone away, but he's hitting just .215 (68-for-317) with a .280 on-base percentage and .694 OPS after making his second All-Star team and leading the Rangers to their first-ever World Series championship last year. Travis Jankowski will get the start in right field for the Rangers on Sunday and will hit eighth against Rays right-hander Zack Littell. Jankowski is mostly a speed option in AL-only leagues and should be avoided for DFS purposes.
