Addison Russell's Suspension Nearing An End
6 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell is on the verge of completing a 40-game suspension for violating the league's domestic-abuse policy and will begin a one-week stint with Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday after playing in extended spring games. He'll be eligible to play in his first game with the Cubs on May 3 against the Cardinals. Russell hasn't appeared in a game since Sept. 19, 2018, and he's likely to be a part-time player when he returns, at least initially. Those in NL-only leagues may want to scoop Russell up if he's available, but you can probably take a wait-and-see approach in mixed leagues for the time being.
