6 years agoChicago Cubs infielder Addison Russell made his first start at second base for Triple-A Iowa on Monday. He's currently on a seven-game minor league assignment as he nears the end of his 40-game suspension for violating the league's domestic-abuse policy. The Cubs will likely decide before Friday whether to activate Russell, option him back to Iowa or straight out release him. He's hitting .250 in six games with Iowa. With Javier Baez entrenched at shortstop now, Russell will likely just be a utility option for the Cubbies if he returns to the team.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
