Adam Shaheen Could Return To Practice This Week
6 years agoChicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen (foot), who has been on Injured Reserve since he injured his foot in the preseason, could resume practicing with the team as early as this Wednesday, according to head coach Matt Nagy. However, it'd start a three-week window for him to be activated, and he'd unlikely be ready to play in Week 10 against the Lions. It'd give the Bears another weapon in the passing game, but Shaheen is unlikely to unseat Trey Burton as the main pass-catching tight end, although it could eat into Burton's snaps a bit. Shaheen showed pass-catching upside at the end of his rookie year in 2017, and he finished with 12 catches on 14 targets for 127 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games.
