Adam Duvall Agrees With Marlins
4 years agoThe Miami Marlins agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent outfielder Adam Duvall on Tuesday. The deal is believed to be worth $4.5 million. A career .233/.293/.468 hitter with a 96 wRC+ in the big leagues, Duvall hit .248/.307/.545 with 117 wRC+ the last two seasons with the Braves, including a .237/.301/.532 slash line, 16 home runs and 33 RBI in 57 games in the shortened 2020 season. The 32-year-old will likely be Miami's starting right fielder in 2021 with no designated hitter expected in the National League, which is bad news for Garrett Cooper, Lewis Brinson and Harold Ramirez. Duvall can give fantasy managers a great slugging percentage and some pop, but he won't help much in batting average or on-base percentage and will also lose some fantasy luster by moving to a much weaker lineup in Miami. He has a current average draft position of 410.
